Hi, it’s Rachel! I am so happy to be guest writing today’s blog post and want to specifically write this with the intention of sharing a glimpse into my thoughts on portraits and motherhood.
Pregnancy is a chapter unlike any other. Your body changes in ways you never imagined—sometimes in ways that feel unfamiliar, even unrecognizable. But those changes are a testament to something extraordinary: the miracle of life growing inside you. Every curve, every shift, every stretch is your body’s way of protecting your sweet baby.
It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day adjustments and forget to pause, to truly see yourself in this moment. That’s where maternity portraits come in. They’re not just pretty pictures—they’re a way to honor the strength, beauty, and transformation you’re experiencing. One day, when the baby you’re carrying is running through your kitchen or heading off to school, you’ll be able to look back at these images and remember the awe, the anticipation, and the love that started it all.
Pregnancy is just the beginning. The growth you experience now—physically, emotionally, and in ways you can’t yet imagine—is the first step in a lifelong journey of change. Maternity portraits capture that starting point. They tell the story of where motherhood began for you, and they become part of the legacy you’ll pass down to your child.
This season is fleeting, but the love it represents lasts forever. Don’t let it go undocumented.
Sincerely,
A Fellow Mama (who didn’t recognize herself most of her pregnancy)
